A Celebration of Old Friends
In 2010, we will be celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Odem-Edroy Independent School District. The 2010 Homecoming Committee is planning a special celebration to reunite old friends, teachers and other ISD staff, parents of ex students and anyone interested in joining in the fun. We invite you to use this site as a reference and communication tool between now and Homecoming 2010. Visit often, contribute information when the call goes out for missing data and most important of all, start planning your trip "home" in the fall of 2010. The exact date will be announced as soon as we have it. In the meantime, please browse the site and let us know your thoughts. WISE OLD OWLS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 2010 CELEBRATION & KNOW IT TAKES FUNDS TO PUT ON AN EVENT SUCH AS THIS The Association must do fund raising in order to plan an outstanding OEISD 100 Year Anniversary Homecoming in 2010 and we have some contribution challenges!! How about the rest of the classes? Send your challenge through the Contact Us page. You can pool your resources, then challenge another class for the same amount or just challenge your classmates. ASSOCIATION HOMECOMING PLANNING MEETING
There was a meeting of the Odem-Edroy I.S.D.
Ex-Students Association on April 5, 2008 in the
Community Room of the Odem Public Library. The
meeting started at 2pm in the Odem Public Library
community room. Among other agenda items, Janie
Galvan Vargas was elected V. President and Lisa
Martinez, secretary at Odem Jr. High School, an alumni,
was elected Secretary of the Association. Both offices
have been vacant and we now have a full slate of officers.
The next meeting will be in October on Homecoming
week-end, with possibly a fund raiser planned. More
details of the meeting will follow.

| PLEASE NOTE NEW ANNOUNCEMENT: We received some correspondence and a very generous offer from Casey Cluiss Flinn, granddaughter of Jack Whetstone (Class of '42), daughter of Kelly Whetstone Cluiss (Class of '70, and niece of Colleen Whetstone (Class 67 - ?) Casey's hobby is genealogy and she's offering to do research for those of you that might need or want information on your family. (See Casey's note below) "I was raised in Sinton, but my mother and her family were all raised in Odem (surname-Whetstone). I have a special interest in the history of these two towns. Genealogy is my hobby and I love helping others research their roots. I would be happy to help anyone with their search. I am willing to visit cemeteries to take photos of headstones and I own a copy of the San Patricio County Book and can look for any information about your family. CLASS OF '88 TO HOLD REUNION
Any interested Class of 1988 alumni are asked to forward contact info to
odemowls88@yahoo.com. The Class of 1988 has a reunion planned for
June 20-22nd. Schedule of events include family meet and greet picnic and
Odem pool and an alumni night at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach Hotel. We
are looking forward to reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones. See
